Azure Backup

Automated data protection

Policy-based backup for virtual machines, files, and SQL databases, with offsite retention. Backup vaults are configured with geo-redundant storage by default, so a regional outage doesn't put your only copy of the data at risk.

Azure Site Recovery

Disaster recovery

Replicates servers to a secondary Azure region so operations can fail over quickly during an outage. Recovery plans sequence which servers boot first (domain controllers and databases before application servers, for example) so the failover comes up in working order, not just in some order.
